I have a Toshiba 36hf71 TV. A couple of days ago the TV stopped responding to 2 different remotes (one is the original remote that came with the TV). I installed new batteries, checked switches in the remotes and still no response. Any suggestions?

my mother in law has a toshiba 2173db telly the remove is not working with it, have changed batteries nothing working, any ideas
I have a Tosiba 36AF61, it stopped responding to remote controls over a six month period. It has been in repair shop a month. The signal is getting through the TV sensor and the channel proccesor has been replaced. remote still won't turn tv on. Any help out there? Thanks Dale73
