Sharp TV- remote and front a/v inputs not working

I have a Sharp 32 inch TV (model 32L-S500), the remote control and front A/V inputs do not work. Actually they worked fine until my son plugged a game system into the A/V inputs one day. The inputs and remote sensor are located next to each other on the front of the cabinet, I suspect that something was burned out? Is this something that I could attempt to repair on my own if I had a service manual and could locate the part(s)? Any info or assistance would be greatly appreciated. I could not find anything on the site that related to this problem.

The inputs on the front of

The inputs on the front of this TV set is made for a game or DVD player, camera, camcorder, ect. to be plugged into for easy access.  If the remote sensor and the jacks are connected on the same printed circuit board, what might have happened is that maybe the jacks on the TV have been flexed or pulled on so the printed circuit board in the front could have gotten cracked or damaged. If this is the case, maybe you can repair it if you know how to disassemble the TV set, and know how to solder. If you dont, it should not cost much to have this repaired. The service manual is available HERE as a paper version, just enter your make and model number and look for it.  The manual is also available as a download HERE  Good Luck, and let us know how this turned out.

Larry,

Thank you very much for posting to my question, I appreciate it. I have some soldering experience, so I think I will order the service manual to make sure that I get the correct replacement part number and give it a shot. I'll keep you posted.
