When I turn on my Toshiba TV, the screen is blank, there is no sound and the red power light is on. I found that fuse F301 (500ma) was blown and resistor R327 (5.6 ohm) was open. I replaced both of them but the resistor keeps burning up and the fuse keeps blowing. I don't have a schematic and I am not sure what components to check. Any ideas? Thanks.
First thing STOP replacing the fuses as the problem will get worse Please read this and follow http://www.techlore.com/article/14476/ If you need futher assistance please ask.. Good Luck
so what are the options on getting the problem fixed? I'm having the same troubles with my toshiba.
Neily27, do you have any solid state repair experience. Do you know how a switch mode power supply works, or a horizontal drive circuit starts up and starts the sweep power supply? If the answer is no, my freind play it safe, and call in a pro to assist you with this repair, as these TV sets these days do not have any user replaceable parts inside them, as everything is on printed circuit boards and has to be unsoldered as well as resoldered. Most of the time though on these types of TV sets, when this complaint comes up, it is a falure of the horizontal output transistor and or the flyback trasformer. These are located in the High voltage section of the TV set, and are very dangerous to work on. Good Luck, and please let us know how you made out with the repair on this TV set.
Hello, my 36" Toshiba TV (standard def- 4 years old) seems to have "blown out" during a storm. Inside, two fuses are blown. I tried to replace them with identical fuses and as I place the new fuse in, I see a small electrical arc to the fuse and it blows the fuse immediately. The TV is unplugged of course.
I read the article mentioned above.
Any ideas what could be causing that problem and how I may be able to fix it? I have a new 42" Philips Plasma, but I'd like to fix this Toshiba if it's not too expensive and use it in the basement. Of course, all TV shops want to charge a service fee to assess the issue. I'm hoping someone may at least have an idea as to what the repair cost may be, even a rough ballpark. Thank you for any assistance.
