I have a 55" projection tv, only 1 yr old. In the right upper corner there are "ghost " lines of color running up and down. It is all the colors almost like a rainbow. They are not bad...yet, only run down about three inches from the top. Could the mirrors be out of alignment from the move?
What is the model number and make of this projection TV set?
Sorry it took so long to respond. It is a Magnovox HDTV progressive scan. Model #51MP392H/17. The "ghost colors" now run almost the whole length of the top 4" of the screen.
if the colors or outlines on nthe picture on the screen looks all like in a 3-D effect, it is most likly the convergence IC's that need to be replaced. You will first need to get the service manual and know how to read a schematic diagram. If that is all in order, you will need a soldering iron, some solder wick and know how to solder and unsolder and how to work on solid state circuit boards. If you do not know one of these things, stop now and call out a pro to assist you in this repair.
