CRT - Panasonic Question

My wife and I recently purchased a used panasonic 56 inch CRT television. The picture is fine but the alignment is slightly off. In other words, the projection is lower than it should be or does not fill the screen. For example, I can't read any text that runs across the bottom and there is a black space across the top. There does not seem to be a way to resolve it through the remote. I opened the back but am lost from there. How do I adjust the picture? I appreciate any help.

Ok I have to inform you there

Ok I have to inform you there are no dirct view 56" TV sets.  You have a crt projection set most likley.  Is the picture in a 3d state with colors around the edges of things on the screen, or are you just missing the top of the picture on ther top of the screen and the bottoms stretched out ?  A model number may help you also.

Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for the correction. You can tell I'm not very tech. savvy. It is not in a 3D state. I'm just missing the top and part of the bottom is cut off. The model number is PT-56WX33G.

Ok No problem my friend.

Ok No problem my friend.  With this all done and said,  You have whats known as a vertical sweep malfunction.  It sounds almost like maybe a minor problem, that if left unchecked, could end up as a major rerpair issue.  As you stated, you only get the bottom part of the screen part as most of the top is cut off.  This is typical of the design of the Panasonic Engineers.  Seen this a dozon or so times.  You are going to have to change several capacitors in the vertical circuit and maybe also change out the vertical driver IC.   If you are not tech savay, or simply not electronicly inclined, do yourself and your loved ones a favor, and see the assistance of a trained tech to help you with this service and repair of this TV set.  These puppys can be very dangerous if you mess around , and do not know what you are doing.  Good Luck, and do keep us informed about the progress of this repair.

Thank you for your help. Yes,

Thank you for your help. Yes, without a doubt, I better call someone. My wife will be relieved that I am not taking apart the T.V. There have been issues in the past! :) Thanks again.
