V-chip is a generic term used

V-chip is a generic term used for a feature of television receivers allowing the blocking of programs based on their ratings category. It is intended for use by parents to manage their children's television viewing. All 13-inch and larger televisions manufactured for the U.S. market since January 1, 2000 are required to have the V-chip technology.   Many devices similar to the V-chip have been produced.  Every manufacturer has a differant way for unlocking it, if it can be, as most can.  There is a site online that has alot of these steps in a data-base.  Since you did not leave a make or model with us, it will be impossable to tell you, but I will leave you the link, and if this does not help you, come back and gives us all the info and we will see if we can assist you. The Link is HERE  Please let us all know if this helped you and how you made out.  Good Luck, and Merrry Christmas.
