Hi, I have just installed a 32" LCD Pentus and am unsure if thr scart swiching is working correctly. There are 2 scart connections (21pin) to the TV. One is from a Sky+ box and the other from an old dvd player. The SKY+ works fine from a power up and all functions are fine. BUT when I power on the dvd I can play a dvd and the TV switches to the dvd scart. If I power off the dvd then the tv svreen goes blue and the only way I can get back to SKY is to go via the SOURCE menu and reselect the scart1 socket. I assumed that since the TV detects and switches to the dvd player that auto switching is working but then would expect that when the dvd signal is removed that the tv should AUTOMATICALLY revert to SKY. Any advice or comment welcomed as to what is normal operation.
HI/ I HAVE JUST GOT THE SAME TV AND HAD THE SAME TROUBLE THE ONLY THING I COULD DO WAS HAVE MY SKY BOX INTO THE TV AND PUT MY DVD DIRECTLY INTO THE SKY BOX WHICH THEN AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHES OVER. THE ONLY THING IS MINE IS A DVD RECORDER NOT JUST PLAYER SO I DONT KNOW IF THAT MAKES I DIFFERENCE?. HAVE YOU GOT YOURS WORKING WITH YOUR SKY REMOTE? IF SO DO YOU KNOW THE CODE CAUSE I CANT FIND IT, CHEERS. P.S SORRY IF MY INFO DOESNT HELP BUT IT DID WORK FOR ME.
Waddy thanks for your reply. I am glad to hear you had a similar problem. It seems unthinkable to me that such a modern TV would require you to manually get the tv to look for the active scart signal. I have searched the web and found tips on scart switching requiring pin 8 to be present in the scart lead and for scart control to be on in the input device ie. sky box. These are items from the setup screen on SKY box. I may have to resort to ringing the helpline to make sure if this feature is available or not. It looks like the Pentus is a variation of Sharp Aquos, Lexsor and a couple of others. I cannot see a manufacturer such a Sharp selling a tv that was lacking in this feature. I could not see any setup items for the TV that related to Scart switching enable/disable. So I'll jhave another play but it won't be till after Xmas. Re codes I found these suggestions on various forums but havben't tried them yet.
