Recording TV programs

Hello,

I have several TV programs recorded on my DVR and am interested in recording them from the DVR to DVD using a recorder. Is there a way to do this or do I need to capture the TV programs and then record them to DVD with a DVD recorder?

Thanks,

Keith

You can find several

You can find several affordable component-style DVD recorders at your local electronics store. You can use one of these to record your TV shows from your DVR to DVD on the fly, which is much easier than capturing everything into a PC.

Thanks for the reply. I have

Thanks for the reply. I have a Memorex dual-format, dual-layer DVD recorder that is designed to be used with a computer. It came with Nero software which I can use to "see" the programs that I want to record. Can I use this with my TV or do I need to buy a different recorder. Are there recorders available that are designed to be used with a TV and that work like a VCR? If so, I have not come across those and need to do more research. If I can use my existing recorder, would you please explain how I can use it. I need to be able to "see" what is on my recorder so that I can choose what I want to record. My DVR has a USB port on the front of it.

There are wide variety of

There are wide variety of standalone DVD recorders on the market that work like VCRs. There's really too many to list, a trip to any electronics store will prove fruitful. Here's a picture of an example player from Philips (view model information here):

When you get one, you connect the AV output of your DVR to the AV input on the recorder. Select the input you wish to record, and throw in a blank disc that's compatible with the player. Start playing the show you want to record on your DVR, and press record on the player... just like a VCR.

I hope this gets you on the right track. Keep us posted!

Thanks for the assistance. I

Thanks for the assistance. I purchased a DVD recorder, like the one you described, and everything is working great. I didn't realize that those types of recorders were available. All I have seen were DVD players and DVD/VCR combos. Thanks again for the help.
