You mean the red is too predominant? Too much red? If so you will need to hook up or switch on the crosshatch generator, and get a service manual and adjust the grey scale to the best you can . These adjustment, im not sure if they are on the CRT boards, or in a service menu. A service manual will tell you this. Oh by the way, its a picture tube assy. not a cannon, but I do know what you mean. If you have no electronic, or solid state printed circuit board experience, play it safe and call in a trained tech to do a tune-up on the TV set, and they can determine if its worth putting anything into this set, as if the picute tubes are weak and thats a good possiblity, I would dump the set. But you never know. Good Luck, and please let us know how you made out with this set.
The red is out of line with the rest of the colors like a red shadow. It also seems a little out of focus on the edges. the red shadow is not as evident or non exsistant in the middle. The amount of red is alright it is just out of line with the rest of the colors.
Oh I see. you have a typical convergence problem then.. Its still going to take some solid state circuit repair experience for you to be able to replace these convergenbce IC;s, as well as a service manual.
Ok Floann if your Hubby knows how to read a schematic and or a service manual, and knows how to solder on fine solid state printed circuit boards then I guess he can attempt to replace these convergence IC's. I will have to trace out a schematic sourcs for you. And hopefully a source for the parts, as Pioneer does not help many peeps who are not authorized to repair Pioneer.
we had a recent power outage and now when i turn on the main power the tv stays in standby mode i can click the on button and it acts like it's going to go on then goes right back to standby. is there anything i can do?

is this an expensive repair if we have someone else do it?
My husband does have soem experience here. Where would we buy the parts and a service manual?
Thanks for the help.
