Panasonic problems

I have a panasonic TH-42PD25 plasma television. The high def. channels come in great but the std. and aux. have a split screen. The screen is split about two thirds of the way to the right side of the screen. Pushing the split screen button on the remote does not cure the problem.

I contacted Panasonic and they said it was a known problem but would not elaborate. I spoke to a local repair shop but they will not speculate without charging a dianostic fee. I would be willing to pay for the fee but I would at least like to know what I am up against before I haul the unit to their shop.

Can anyone help?

If Panasonic is aware of this

If Panasonic is aware of this, and it is a "known problem", then I push them for more information at the least, and possible push them to cover the repair if it's a manufacturing defect.

Keep us informed.

I had a similar problem. It

I had a similar problem. It would display correctly with a DVD player, but not with the regular cable box. After a couple of months, now I am not able to get any picture at all. I hear the sound. I can even see sub-titles when I mute. I can display menu/setup etc. But no picture from any of the input sources. I tried viewing photos and camcorder (just to check) and same result.

Is my TV done? Similar to the previous writer, I am not interested in taking this monster down from the wall and spending a diagnostic fee, unless it is even worth looking at. Any ideas?
