I have a toshiba tv that is 15 yrs old. If you turn the tv off, when you turn it back on, it keeps turning off and on for 15- 20 min. What chould be causing it?
I also have a toshiba TN43V71 43" rear pro. same thing happens to me. goes off and stays off 15-30 min. then it goes on again when i fool with the remote. whats wrong. I cant call a tech because when he gets hear the tv will be on. and wont find whats wrong.
doesnt anyone know the answer to this problem as i can see i'm not the only one with the same problem. Is it a toshiba defect or what. thank you for your response

I too have a Toshiba (Cinema Series Color rear projection tv model # TN50V71) that constantly turns off on it's own. What I was told to do is look at the little red indicator light next to the power button on the TV. When the TV turns off on its own the indicator light flashes a certain way, mine flashed One long red light followed by a pause then repeated short pulses of light. For every problem the TV has, the indicator Light flashes a certain way, this tells the technician what the problem is. So the next time your TV shuts off see what pattern the indicator light displays.
I unplugged the TV for the wall, cable and all, replacing it with an older TV I had. After about a month I decided to try plugging in the TV again and it worked fine. its been working for for over a month with no problems.
i have a toshiba 20HL67 and i have no clue why but it always goes on and off, but mine doesnt do any light pattern. the tv is still on the green light but there;s no image or sound then after a 5 sec picture and sound comes back on ???. i dont get it then 5 mins later same thing, ughhh, pleasee help mee.
