Sunday me and the wife went out shopping at WAL-MART after the Packer game. We bought a new Sanyo 27" vizon T.V. and lo and behold, I we got it home and into the house and unpacked it and put it on the tv stand, guess what? It had a little chip in the screen on the bottom left hand side. Now it really bugs me if I don't want to look at that spot we have to box it all back up and take it back. Do you think I should try to get them to knock some off the price we paid or ask for a different one? Any comments from anybody are welcome.
I myself would ask for a differant one. You could MAYBE get a few bucks off of the set or ask for an extended warranty but will you be able to get used to the broken area of the set? I dont think I would. Good Luck and let us know what you decided or what happened.
I think we will take it back and exchange it, even though the chip is only about 1/8" across. I sure like the picture and all the other features it has. I was looking in the owners manual and trying to figure out the digital features. I don't quite understand. Do cable companies have some channels that are in digital format, that are unscrambled and not on my analog lineup? Maybe I should ask the cable company. I like higher tech stuff, but sometimes I just am not savvy. We got the extended warranty right away, it was an extra $17.00 and it starts after the manufacturers warranty.
We did the same thing. We bought a Sanyo 27" flat screen from Walmart, got it home and the case was damaged with quite a big dent. I made my husband take it back and exchange it, which thrilled him to bits. I told him to check the new one before he brought it home. They don't really want you taking the TV out of the box, though. Guess what, the next one had a couple of deep grooves in the top edge. I couldn't be bothered a second time but it is annoying. However, as hubby has two 27" TVs catty corner in his sports room to watch 2 games at once, I don't have to look at it. I think they bash them around in the store or they are maybe seconds?
Good to hear that people are sticking to there guns. Alot of larger retail stores use this to see how many will "bother" to bring back the sets as they will make out on these "seconds" types of sets. so if they are willing to make a deal, my experience with this tells me they knew about it and was trying to get rid of the damaged sets.
