Recording problem. Audigy 4.

My comments will probably display the fact that I am as thick as a brick.
I record voice onto a Karaoke song and it sounds quite OK.
(Not bragging there) But when I replay it, there are lots of little skips or speed hicks.
Does that make any sense to anyone? I would very much appreciate your help because I am very satisfied with the product, but I just have to solve this hick.
Thank you to anyone who can help.

Sorry My freind, but I need a

Sorry My freind, but I need a little more info.  Is this equipment new?  Is it a CD your recording to?  Is this in your house or a moble setup?  Is it a steady ticking or is it random? What I mean is there a pattern to it?    These may sound like funny questions, but bear with me.

Larry.  Thanks for answering.

Larry.  Thanks for answering.

The equipment is new.  I'm recording onto the hard drive of the computer.  It is a random thing that seems to interfere with the speed of the recording and there is no pattern to it.

I hope I have provided you with sufficient information.

Don.

I have not persued this

I have not persued this matter because I'm waiting for another microphone to arrive.  I want to eliminate the possibility of the broblem being mine.

I will be back as soon as I can, either way.

Are you there Larry?

I now have a new microphone.  That did not fix the problem, so now I am really lost.  Do you have any ideas?

Don.

Sorry dont12340,  I spoke toi

Sorry dont12340,  I spoke toi a few peeps I know that uses that soundblaster sound card and was told they are having no problems at all with it, except on guy told me in the beginning he was getting alot of dropouts from the input being turned up way to high and the AGC (Automatic Gain Control) was kicking in, but after he reduced the input level, everything was fine.  All I can suggest is to first go here, make sure you have all the lastest frivers, and then contact the customer support, as maybe, just maybe you have a bad card.  Good Luck, and please let us know how you made out.

LARRY !!!!!!!!!

Thank you very much.  I did other fiddling as well, but I think it was solely the "Wave" input level was too damn high.

It now seems to be operating perfectly with its only limitation being the input quality of the source of the "Voice".

Nothing you can do about that too I s'pose? lol.

Thanks again Larry for your trouble.  I might just leave this file open for a couple of days, just in case, but I think you have solved the problem completely.

Regards,

Don.
