problem getting picture

Hi, I have a older rear projection tv. I believe around 1994 or older. My problem is that I get sound but no picture. I turn it to menu, but have to get real close to barley see it. I can only see a real faded blue color. The same thing with ajusting the color lines. but when I am trying to watch my channels, there is no picture at all. Just sound. Anyboby out there ever have this problem, or know how to fix it? I would really appriciate any kind of help! Thank You, Chaos

I got this tv from my brother,He said it has to be serviced when ever you move it. But as far as I know it was working OK, for him and then I believe it just didn't.I am not really sure, I will have to ask him, It also has been sitting for a few years. I do know that much. I will get back to you as soon as I find out more. Thanks, Chaos

Ok first you should know the

Ok first you should know the high voltage safety issues involved with a projection set.  Also you should know how to solder and work on printed sircuit boards.  This set has no tubes except the picture tubes and cannot be replaced easly buy the user.  Your problem is a power supply faualt like dried up capacitors open capacitors, bad picture tubes, high voltage block or the Picture in picture board,if the set has this function,  is bad.  All of these problems should be repaired by a trained service person as it is dangerous to be experimenting around inside these tV sets.  Now if you want to try an easy repair and the set has Picture in picture, thes simple fix is soldering a jumper across two point to eleminate  the board.

Good Luck and let bus know if you fix the set or what was done.
