I say the Sony. It is simply a better design and has better features. They both have 1920X1080 resolution. The Sony has a dynamic contrast at 7000:1 and the Sharp is at 2000:1. means sharper picture, crisper, more defined. Both have basicly the same types of backlight systems. The Sony has Three HDMI connectors, one on the side and two in the back, The Sharp has two in the back. Almost all have the same types of other inputs and outputs except the Sony has a power output of 22 watts. the Sharp said 14 watts. The Sharp had a veiwing angle of 176 degrees and the Sony had 170 degrees of veiwing angle. The Sony weight is a bit more at 102 LB without the pedistal, and the Sharp was at 90 LBs. The cost is alot differant too! The Sony had a high selling price of $6799.99, and a low price of $5799.00. The Sharp had a high selling price of $4795.00 and a low of $4199.00. If I was buying a set, the price would not be the only reason I would by one. You go cheap you get what you pay for. Also On a set like this I might concider an extended warranty, as if the LCD went out on this Sony set, it would cost around 2500 to 3 grand to replace it. I also think the Sony is a prettyer set, more details and just a sharp looking display. These are all just my opinoin, except for the specs.
