we have just been given a fidelity tv, have bought a new remote but still cant tune it in. the av channel is ok, we have played a dvd but have plugged in the cable and can only get a fuzzy progamme on 1 channel. Does anyone no how to tune with the remote (it came with no instructions on which button to press), the telly make is ctv3228nf. Thanks
If you have the original replacement remote, and they are avail. for about 14 pounds on line, You should be able to go into the menu and look for an auto tunning feature and with a cable or antenna attached, it should read and program all of the stations. Two problems with this set comes to mind. If you go into the menu and do not see an auto tunning mode, then the set is stuck or locked in a hotel mode and was put there with a code and the only way to fix that is by replaceing the eeprom IC. Another common problem is that when you do find the auto search mode and run the setup feature, all the stations will come in perfactly BUT when you shut off the unit you lose all the programed stations and have to do an auto search again or every time you shut off the power. Im sorry I do not have the operating instuctions, but I do have a service diagram with all of the schematics in a PDF if you need it.
