my tv/dvd apex parental guide, and remote no play

I have a model GT2011S and I have tried to take the lock off with no success. I am using a universal remote from radio shack. Tv turns off/on but will not respond to any other function. HELP!!!

I have an old model apex tv, some how all the sudden on its own it turns blue and says blocked due to v-guide. And its stupid because it blocks nickelodeon and other pg channels. We no longer have a tv remote and haven't for a while so I'm not sure why all the sudden this is happening and how do I even fix it with out a remote!? And the weird thing is is that it will play a show for a while then all the sudden turn blue then go away and play the show for a few min ten turn blue again so on.. Any ideas??

The same thing happened to me. So, I called Apex. They finally answered.(i felt like I was living in that Capital One commercial... "this is Peggy" lol) To no avail they were as helpful as my cat. So, i waited for my teenage son to get home from school and he fixed it. lol. I do not have the original remote but I do have AT&T Uverse. If you have Uverse, just press the orange On Demand button and it unlocks the TV. Hope this helps someone.

Thanks a million! I did it and it worked. I also have a universal remote and this is what i did. I used the menu button on the tv and manually entered the system command. I then used the volume keys/channel keys (whichever works for you) to go to parental block in the systems menu. it asked me for a code and then i used my universal remote to enter both codes. the second code worked for me. Thanks a lot. This was frustrating me, it is so stupid. For years, I can watch nickelodeon and then one day i'm being blocked from kiddie channels for no reason.

Thank you sooooo much!! I just got uverse and thought maybe it was the box so I have been on the phone with them for an hour have a tech coming on Friday (which I can now cancel!) and pressed every button on the uverse remote except the on demand button (because honestly who would think an on demand button would unlock a parental control!) anyway I have been trying to fix this since 9 p.m. it is now 11:30 and I cannot express grateful I am to your teenager for fixing your t.v.! thanks a bunch for sharing!!!

worked for me too, Funcation (F button) amd Mute button at the same time and my TV lock turned off and I got the picture back, Thnaks!
