Toshiba Model-TN55V71 Chassis-TAC9959 bleeding blue

I couldnt scrounge up a service manual, sorry. It may look like a Convergence issue but its not,I can see the color behind the blue I do have a small missalignment issue but its not the blue, The blue looks like its bleeding and smearing over lapping the other colors. My question is could it be the convergence IC's? Already tried adjusting the focus block and poking grounds with a stick :) Blue Stuff

Blue tube bad.

Blue tube bad.

Bleed is the lack of fine control on the control grid of the crt. There is an outside chance that it is a cap on the neck module, switch out the neck module with another module from either the red or blue see if the problem follows (red or green smear ) if it does not follow the tube color then it is the tube for sure.

When you say neck module

When you say neck module would that be the same thing as the crt drive board?

I got a chance to work on it

I got a chance to work on it today but swapping boards on the crt's is easier said than done, one of those types, without doing a major de/soldering job. Thanks for the info, help and suggestion zapdbf.

it can be done! on a sony

it can be done! on a sony best to swap the blue with the red. I know it is tough but it is needed to see if the bleed follows the color. Trust me it is a pain in a$$ to do this but it will tell you allot.

Its more impossible

Its more impossible/impractical the boards are attached to one another and attached with exact length (no slack) HV leads going to the focus block(I may muster up the energy to try disconnecting the focus block from the chassis and see if that creates anymore slack in the HV leads)which sets on the right side of the tv.So to swap the blue and the red, swapping with the green is out of the question as its the central board that all of the other boards are attached to with exact length connections, boards I would have to desolder the actual part that attaches to the pins of the neck of the crt and swap them that way.More of a hassle than its worth expecially just to find out it was the blue crt(which if it is I really wasnt planning on putting that much money into it for a new blue crt since the tv itself is so old). The kids will be tickled pink about it either way sure beats their 30 inch dlp with a dirty or bad optical block(BLUE-LOL-dots all over the screen)
