Convergence Issue after IC replacement

Hello Everyone. I'm hoping someone can help my.

I have a Panasonic PT56TW53G rear projection. The other day I noticed that the green convergence was off by about 3 inches in the horizontal direction, and I couldn't adjust it enough. After reading several posts on here, I replaced the two 392-110 convergence IC's.

After replacing them, now it appears the red convergence is way off (again in the horizontal direction). A couple of things to point out:

- I'm sure I plugged everything back in correctly.

- I checked the resistors, and they seem to be reading correct values.

- The green convergence has been corrected. I'm certain of this because the green convergence has a seperate alignment step.

What are the odds of me replacing it with a bad IC??

Also, I've noticed that both times it was the horizontal convergence. Does anyone know which chip is the horizontal one (one is parallel with the sides of the board, one is on an angle)?

Any help would be appreciated. Right now I'm waiting for a new set of IC's. Anyone know where I can find the service manual for this set?

1.The chances are good if you

1.The chances are good if you got them from ebay? 2.you will have to download the data sheet for that ic or Service Manual with a schematic for your make and model to determine what pins are used for what,on a side note they dont make 392-110's anymore for good reason they are just to unreliable,I believe the 120,150,and 180 are replacements but dont take my word on those you will have to do some research.

Also check your solder

Also check your solder connections for bridged pins.

Thanks for the response. I've

Thanks for the response. I've ordered another pair (yes off ebay). Should I be using the 150's instead? Is there any difference in operation?

I wasn't abe to access the service manual on the link you attached. It says access denied.

I got it. I did use thermal paste. I'm going to try cleaning the solder joints. I think maybe I left some flux on the board.

Got the manual, thanks. However it doesn't show the IC's position on the board (in order to tell vertical/horizontal).

Thanks again for your (quick) help.

what is the board location

what is the board location number for the convergence ic's?
