I have a compaq presario sr1920an and the problem is that I was using the computer when
I was called to the phone when I came back the coputer was off.
asked my son why he switched it off he said he was using it.
When i switched it on the windows xp came up then when it asked for the pssword it would not let me in so could some one tell me how i can access the computer so that i can use it again.
some how my son has done somthing and can not rember what he did.

Start windows in safe mode and log onto the account in question and turn off user account passwords in the Control Panel.
If you don't know how to enter safe mode, press F8 repeatedly during the boot sequence and you should be prompted with the option to enter safe mode.
Also it would be a good idea to setup a non administrator account just for him that way if he does something like this on his account you can log into your password protected account that he doesnt have access to and just delete his account and make him a new one instead of having to completely reinstall windows on the hard drive.
