From what I read about this set the HV splitter can short and keep this set from coming on,one way to test if this is your problem is to pull the HV = High Voltage wire out of the splitter {and hang it well away from EVERTHING} and try to turn on the tv.You should first test the voltage of the b+ test point from CR116 if its above 150 or below 130 then the power supply needs to be rebuilt.
