I have a good old-fashioned Nintendo NES. I can't remember how to hook it up! Where does the RF Switch go? To the VCR? To the TV? or what? Also, do I need another type of attachment to go with the RF Switch? HELP!!
Any manual you need for the nes games or the game systems go to http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/manuals/index.jsp and scroll down to the game consoles. I know how everything hooks up but it all dependant on what type of input you have on the tv or the outputs on your game itsself. Thought it would be in your best interest for you to get what you need up front. Good Luck and let us know if you need more assistance.
It's always nice to meet a classic gamer. I keep a good 'ol NES hooked up full time for a little nostaligic gaming. Do you have the front-loader NES or the NES 2 (top-loader)? What NES games do you play?
Cool man, as you see on the website they have most of the games available, instruction manual also. If you search NES games WOW! Your puter will explode with neat downloads and some for free!. So keep techlore in mind when you have a gadget or technical problem..
Zelda is a classic, and one of my all time favorites. Good luck on the second quest if you've never gotten to it.
If Zelda and Tetris are the only games you have, I can think of about 200 off the top of my head that you should track down and get. There's so many great classics!
First 5:
- Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, & 3 (yeah, I know that's three. Sue me. )
- Contra
- Star Tropics
- Blaster Master
-Castlevania 2
I can think of a ton more if you're interested! Of course, I'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts, too!
Hey guys-thanks, but I'm a 60 yr old Grama and stuck in my ways! So I don't really like super stradegy games (just zelda) and I'm not into "war" type games. Other than that, are there any other kinds of games I might like? My four boys (actually men with families, now) think it's funny that I still play with NES, when they're on to all the new stuff!
I cant remeber the website or link, but I saw one once that had all the games listed with a picture of it and a short explanation of the game. I will try to find it, as there should be lots of them for you to play. Dont foret to check e-bay , as I have seen games there for the NES for a low as 6 bucks!

The original Zelda is a classic, and one of my all time favs. If you like a game like this, I highly recommend keeping your eyes peeled for a used SNES. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is well worth it. There's also a lot of other great RPG/Adventure games that you'd probably really enjoy.
If Zelda is your type of game, I have a few other recommendations that are along the RPG/Adventure side that you might like:

If you like Star Tropics, you can give Star Tropics 2: Zoda's Revenge a whirl

OK Matt, I'm taking your advice. I went on eBay and bought Castlevania 2 for $.99 (plus $4.99 shipping) and Star Tropics for $.01 (plus $5.00 shipping) they're making a couple of bucks on shipping. I'll let you know when they get here and if I can figure out how to play them! ~carydip
Hi Matt--I got Star Tropics in the mail today! But, no instructions. So I've worked my way up to the 1st dragon, can't get past him yet. I found the medicine but don't know how to access it. And what's the stars for and what's the little red pots for? And how do I access them? Wow, this is frustrating! I looked all over Tech and Nintendo but can't find any instructions for Star Tropics, they don't even acknowledge it exists! HELP!! `Carydip
It's tough when you don't get instructions when you pick up an older game. Fortunately, I'm going to turn you on to what I believe to be the greatest gaming resource on the web. It's called GameFAQs.com, and it contains user-written guides, tips, cheats, tricks etc. for nearly every game in existence.
For example, it has 5 general FAQs on StarTropics, and 1 in-depth FAQ on just the weapons in the game. It even has several user-created maps on the various dungeons. The FAQs are free to access, and should answer just about any question on the game, including all the game items and weapons. Check it out: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/g...
Be careful though, these FAQs usually contain a detailed walkthrough on every thing in the game. It can be tempting to look up a puzzle's solution every time you get stuck. Try to play through the game as much as you can without looking to the walkthrough for help.

I still have a classic atari 2600 working great!! I like the old astroids and the frogger game. My wife is looking to find the circus game.
