I have owned my TV for around 5-6 years now. Shortly after the first year ended the lamp blew and was replaced.
Things have more or less been fine until recent.
Maybe about a week ago someone pointed out to me the color was "off"
I have attempted to go into 'picture' and play with color, tint, vivid etc but nothing has had much an effect. We either go bland/yellow/tan ish or purple and green.
In the movie UP you see lots of red balloons...but you won't on my TV. It is like red disappeared. Women lipsticks all look like some sort of shiny brown..
There has been no messages, no flashing lights or anything that indicates that TV is using any program it has installed to warn me something is wrong or I need a new lamp.
This is not a TV I can fit in my honda civic and take out for repairs and cost concerns me.
Any idea what might be going on with the TV and what my choices to resolve it might be?
I have written on the front of my user manual -
lamp - TY-LA1000
We have all those niffy slots and tricks and the stand.
Only a DISH dvr, vcr, dvd and playstation 1 are connected to the TV and are rarely used as in like never. Not including the DISH dvr.
Not a lot of running and getting crazy around the TV.
We do have power outages and I have a protector on it but I have been told it will serve no purpose as the wiring in this house is too outdated for it to matter.
Thank you so very much!

you will have to pop a panel off to find the focus block it may be in front or back.
I have to admit that link has me at a loss. Plus I could not find a panel past what I believe to be a fan and for the lamp.
I just put in a DVD and mary poppins looks spot on, yet when I watch stuff through the dvr it all looks wrong. like in CopyCat, her suit is bright red in the movie, for me it is like a brown.
I am guessing it is the DVR that has gone...
Thoughts?
