i found the service manual at [email protected] looking for the jumper location it showed g-77 to be location but couldn,t find it on my motherboard, but i did find two triangles together on my motherboard under the lower cover there is number g-69 with a line that goes to the two triangles, they were the only ones on the m/b,i shutoff laptop then i then removed the hdd, the battery , then plugged in the power cord , then used a piece of thin wire to hold on the triangles contacts , i tilted the laptop up on the screen to see the bottom of laptop , then had a friend turn-on laptop, it didnt clear the password the first time so we did it again and it cleared the password , then had it tried to repair itself ,then go to settings change to boot from cd reinstalled my windows 7 operating system disc and i,m back to a working computer! thought i,d share the info !
where is situated g-69? near what? in what part ? can y show me a picture?
I took the body apart. Look for the batter closest to you to the right of the mouse pad, near the edge. Remove the battery and replace it. It allows the computer to boot but you can't get into the bios - still havn't cracked that password yet.
I took the case apart, found the bios battery near the right hand edge with the computer facing you. Look for the service manual before taking it apart.
removing cmos battery and main battery will not clear bios password waste of time , read my early post thats how i cleared bios password also go to the website i listed look-up your acer service manual for the jumper location for clearing password , remove the hdd & main battery open large lower cover look for two triangle copper leads near each other bottom rt the number 69 will be next to triangles open laptop lay on side plug-in power cord , hold thin wire to triangle contacts than power up laptop until acer splashes on screen then shut-off lap top you may have to repeat process acouple of times to clear bios password , then put laptop back together it should work
