My inputs on a Dell tv are messed up. The ones on the end do not work right, the picture jumps around. I have to use the back inputs. But they are the four cord hookups and the back of my dish network receiver only has red yellow and white... I can hook up the ryw ones but only get black and white pictures. But the I get some reception with the cable hookup (coaxial) but it jumps around as well.... any help? I have to either watch a jumpy color picture or a good black and white one!
Make sure the Dell TV is set to look for NTSC signals. The way you're describing the issue it sounds like it's looking for PAL.
How do I check for this?
A setting in the TV's on screen menu would be the place to start. If you want to give me the exact model number of the TV and dish box you have, I can try to look into that and other possibilities.
I've peeked through your manual, I can rule out a setting in the TV, but I will need to know what Dish box you have to check if it outputs anything other than NTSC.
One thing though, try doing the factory reset in your TV. Won't hurt. Menu -> Setup -> factory reset.
Tried the factory reset to no avail. :-( It acts like the two side inputs is where the trouble is. The two back ones work. The one I have my dvd in works perfectly. the other one I just don't have the right cables coming from the dish box. I tried a splitter using the yellow and attaching a blue and green from the splitter but it didn't work at all... It's dish network as far as the box, not sure what else you are needing to know about that...please excuse my ignorance!
