Hello all. I have a big problem. I have replaced my ic chips in my Sony because I was having a bowed effect and convergance issue on the corners. But once I turned it back on it had q bunch of lines like static all across the screen but now bowed effet no more. :). I turned it off then turned it back on and poof it was gone. Like 30 min later it went out of wack. So now on everytime it does it I have to turn it off And on to fix it. Do you think a pico is bad (if so do I check it while it's on or off the board). Or can it be that my solder work is bad? Any other help would be greeat.

The lines could be caused by a loose high voltage cable. If you removed the board and disconnected a HV cable prior to replacing the IC's, and didn't provide a tight connection when re-installing it, this might be the result. There is a specific method for doing this, mentioned in the service manual and elsewhere on this site, I believe.
No i didn't remove them but I did make sure to go in and check them they seemed pretty tight and in place. Any other ideas
After Sony TV KP57WS500 convergence repair and intermittant convergence problems appear, check:
1. Snap Down connectors between the 2 main boards may be loose.
2. Bad solder connection on one of the 2 power supply fuses. Visually check with magnifying glass and re-solder. We have encountered this fault on various Sony TV Repair jobs on models: 61HS30, 46wt500, 46WT520, 51WS500, 51ws510, 53hs30, 53V80, 65WS510, 57WS500. Measuring resistance (Open or short) will mislead you and not tell you anything useful if the solder connections are bad.

Of course the solder connections on the bottom of the STK392 570 ICs have all been checked to confirm they are OK. Also be aware that many of the STK ICs sold by Internet shopping carts are defective and of no use.
