After a power outage my TV has no power. I have a mitsubishi ws 65909 and the green light blinks constantly, with no picture. Does any one have any suggestions?
With the TV plugged in, and after it has turned off after trying to get it to power up, press the MENU and INPUT buttons on the front of the TV and hold for 5 seconds. The power LED should blink. The number of blinks indicate an error code. It should blink rapidly a multiple of times, then pause for about 1/2 second. Then start again. Those two sequences make up a single error code (for example, two blinks - pause - one blink). Here are what each sequence indicates:
12 - No error
21 - X-ray protection circuit
22 - Short protection circuit
23 - Horizontal deflection failure
24 - Vertical deflection failure
Once you're able to determine what error code (if any) you're receiving, reply back and hopefully somebody can help - this error code will give a start. Good luck!
Oh, and here's a link to download the service manual from this site - it should be of some help once you get deeper into trying to solve this problem.
This is probably the GBLOD, green blinking light of death problem you are experiencing. Do a search on this site for articles on repairing the DM module. This repair requires significant disassembly and soldering skills. Otherwise expect to pay at least 300 dollars for a professional to do it.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I have the capacitors on order to repair the DM Module. They should come in tomorrow morning. Wish me luck...thanks.
