I am the owner of a Philips TV model no PW 9527/105 and have had it for about 5years. My kids have now become older and I desperatly need to lock certain channels via my control, and seeing as I have never had the need to use the service before never tried it until of recent, and it is asking me for a code....I've tried 1234 and0000 thinking these would be the factory settings but to my dissatisfaction is not working. Can anyone HELP? |

Philips TV/ parental code
That means someone else has entered a code at one time or another. You will need to clear out the old code. Here are the steps for this: Philips:
Philips sets use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for Philip sets is 0711, although it may say "Incorrect code" the first time to trick you. If "Incorrect code" is displayed, simply enter 0711 again.
To use it: hit the MENU key to get to the menus. Go up or down until you reach AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK, depending on the model, and push the "right arrow" key on the remote. Enter the override code, and enter it a second time if it says it is incorrect.
Once in the AUTOLOCK or SMARTLOCK menu, go to BLOCK, and push the "right arrow" key. Go to BLOCKING OPTIONS and press the "right arrow" key. Go to MASTER DISABLE and press the "right arrow" key so that it says "MASTER DISABLE ON". The v-chip is now deactivated.
Now uou can go and block any channels you want and enter your own code, and if you ever forget this code, simply use the override code BUT keep it away from the kids. You can get an owners manual for this TV set HERE Good Luck and let us know how you make out with this TV set.
