Great forum here guys.
I have a KP-43T90 RA chassis that appeared to have the convergence chips go bad. I replaced both with OEM Sanyo chips and made sure the fuses are still good. After getting the TV back together all went well, colors were pretty good and the set didn't catch fire. After about 2 hours the convergence started getting off again. I have read about the possibility of convergence resistors going bad also. Where are these located and could it be the problem? If so, what are the chances that I fried another chip? Also I don't have the original remote. When I first got it together flash focus brought everythig together, but isn't working now that the halos have returned.
EDIT: Corrected Model Number
I pulled the board back out and hit all of the solder again and cleaned the board up. I checked the convergence resistors and all of them were good as are the pico fuses. This time the convergence was off from the start. Is there anything else I should look for before I go ahead and order 2 more Convergence Chips?
Problem solved, so far. Seems I did have a couple of pic fuses blow, not sure how they checked fine the last 2 times I was in there. Replaced them with glass fuses and the set is back to its old self. Hopefully they won't blow after 3 hours again. TVRepairKits did give me excellent support through the whole ordeal, too bad they didn't give me the right fuses with the overpriced kit. I did notice the colors are still off, just not as bad as before. Dark colors seem to have a green tint and light colors have a red tint, especially flesh tones. Are there any adjustments other than standard picture tuning I can do to clean it up?
