I have a Sony Trinitron kv-27f200 and the channel auto program keeps popping up. i tried changing the batteries in the remote, i tried removing the batteries, and i tried pulling out the power to the tv hoping it would reset but nothing works. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks...

Have you tryed to leave the set unplugged for at least 12 to 24 hours? Also you may have whats called the cleaning spirt inside this TV set. This happens when cleaning solution is sprayed onto the face of the picture tube and the liquid seeps down around the edges of the picture tube, down onto the printed circuit board below it. After a short perid of time the liquid will corroide the printed circuit board and cause all sorts of weird things to happen with the TV set. If this is not the poblem, one of the small tact switchs on the front controls could be intermittant, or the set is haveing a microprocessor problem. Sounds like it is time to call in a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck, and let us know how you made out with this repair.
I am having the same exact issue with my projection unit. Its a Trinitron 52
