Sony KP53HS10 Component Input Failure

I have a Sony KP-53HS10 that was experiencing audio but no picture.  My "self Diagnosis" code was blinking 5 times.  A friend came over and adjusted the 3 knobs under the speaker screen as was suggested in another thread.  To our delight, this worked.  We hooked the coax cable in to be sure we received picture and we did.

However, when we tried to hook up components using the inputs on the back of the TV, we cannot get any of the inputs to recogonize anything.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Frankie

Is the TV switching to the inputs you are hooked to ? On Sony you can turn inputs off in the setup menu under lable video inputs. If the input is "turned off" = (set as skip in the lable menu) then the TV will not switch to those inputs even with a signal being input to it. Also check to be sure if your component input is able to accept greater than 480p resolution. (I'm not sure without looking up the model number if your set is HD ready) but I have seen where someone hooks up a HD signal like 720p,1080i,, from a sat box and the tv (even though it may have component video input) is not able to process those signals. In that case you need to set the output resolution of your source to 480. .. The fix you mentioned, Adjusting the screen controls, does not usually have any effect on the input jacks, so if they were working before your problem then double check your connections..
