Hi, Larry,

Hi, Larry,

Are you going to be sending me the repair manual for my KP-51WS510? My initial request was back in early November.

Thank You - Scott

I have a KP-51WS500 with the convergence issue. I've done quite a bit based on the help from this site, but I'm still stuck. I'm hoping someone here can help. Here's the history:

I read all of the data here and ordered new STK-392560 IC's. I tested 6 pico fuses on the IC board and the two on the power board. All tested good, so I replaced my STK IC's with ones ordered from a reputable site that was recommended somewhere on Techlore. During the replacement, I used heat sink compound and applied it liberally. Immediately following the replacement, the TV was re-assembled and worked PERFECTLY. The picture was PERFECT!

On the day of the repair, the TV worked for about 6 hours and was turned on and off several times. The next day, it came on and worked properly, but after a short time, all of the sudden, the picture instantly lost it's convergence all at once.

I went back in and checked all of the Pico fuses, this time finding that one of the fuses on the power board had now blown (labelled P55001 on the circuit board). The blown fuse is a yellow 5 amp pico. I replaced this blown fuse with a green 5 amp pico fuse that I obtained from a local electronic parts supplier. Green was the only color they had.

Upon turning the TV back on, the newly replaced Pico blew again.

Here are my thoughts and questions. I believe that one of my new STK IC's was factory flawed. The TV worked perfectly for about 7 hours before re-developing the convergence problem. I remember reading somewhere that if an electronic part is faulty, it will probably last less than 20 hours of service.

Here are my questions:
1) Does my theory that one of the new IC's is bad explain the repeatedly blowing Pico fuse?
2) Does it matter that my new pico fuses are green, and not yellow? (They are very clearly 5 amp, which IS the same as the original).
3) If my theory seems plausible, is there a way to determine which STK IC is bad based upon which pico is blowing on the power board? I'm thinking that a wiring diagram might indicate which IC the pico labelled "P55001" powers? It would be great if I could replace only the bad STK IC!
4) I can't locate the site where I ordered the new STK IC's, can you make a suggestion?

Thank you,

Tom
