It is just not as bright on the left hand side. It starts on the left side and gradually works down to the bottom. So basically half of the picture is lighter than the other half.

I repair this model quite frequently, the description of your symptom does not match what i have seen, but we just may not be communicating correctly either. If it is blurry it may be dust on the lens but i don't see this as a problem that much. The normal symptom is to be greenish in color or you will see discolored blurry spots that are of a specific color normally red but they can be blue aswell. Without seeing the problem i can only guess, but based on my experience with this set it sounds like it could be a light engine (optical block) this is a common failure with this set. If it is out of warranty it is cost prohibitive to replace. I have one just like yours just has a lot blue dots on the screen some flash on and off. tried to clean optical block three times no luck. Guess I check ebay till the right parts shows up. Cost to much to repair it if you take to a repair shop and its out of warranty.
The Model is a KDF-E42A10 WEGA. Hopefully someone has some input as to this problem.
