Panasonic DVD-RV32 keeps saying "H07"

No matter what DVD I put in the machine my player keeps attempting to read the disk then gives up and displays the message "H07", or "K07" its hard to tell on these things. This applies to the cleaner disks as well. Afterwords it justs stops and sits there stupidly.

The H07 error seems to have

The H07 error seems to have something to do with the motor that spins the disc, which is why the disc's condition doesn't make any difference. According to various reports, spraying the motor with a small abount of oil or WD-40 may temporarily solve the issue, but the procedure to get to the motor should not be performed by anyone that has little experience in repairing electronics.

It seems the only way to permanently fix this problem is to replace the motor. Expect to pay $30 to $50 for the part, plus labor. All-in-all, I would say it is not worth fixing. You could easily replace it with a new, and better, unit.

I had the same problem with

I had the same problem with mine. This message occurs when the disc stops spinning at the correct speed. The drive spindle sits in a plastic bushing. The bushing becomes worn and causes the spindle to slow. Putting a drop of oil in it can temporarily fix it. I tried it and then tested it for several hours. The problem returned so I junked it and got a new one. This is a very common problem with the RV32 and generally occurs about the time the factory warranty expires.

I had the same problem.

I had the same problem. Found a site on the web where someone posted details pictures on how to dismantle and where to place a drop of oil (sorry, don't have the address). I used 3 in 1 oil and it fixed the DVD player.
