panasonic cordless (land-line) phone

I have been given a Panasonic KX-TCD735E with no instructions , While messing about trying to work out what does what, i have altered something and where the handset used to connect to the base and change settings. But now it no longer connects to the base and it will not register with the base. does anyone know how i overcome this? greatfull for replys
