Mitsubishi WD-62525 Rear Projection TV

When we turn the TV on the screen display is made up of 96 columns with horizontal lines.  The horizontal lines alternate in intensity from top to bottom and also alternate in intensity from column to column.  Some of the columns are narrower than others.  This pattern is black and white and fills the entire screen.  I have unplugged the TV to let it set for 15 minutes and plugged it back in with no results.  The raster is good and the audio does not appear to have a problem.

OH Man! I have the exact same

OH Man! I have the exact same problem. I have been told that it is being caused by a bad "PWB FORMATTER BOARD". I have also been told that this board is a bugger to get to. I am still researching other avenues but I think I am going to order a board and attempt the repair myself. I was told it does not require special tools or test equipment. But, you do need to tear down a good portion of the tv. I was quoted a price of $325 for the board and a $150 core charge. If a tech comes out I will be out close to $700.

The part number I was given is  930B924002. Here is a link I found when I googled the part number. It gave me instructions on how to replace the board...

I hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes. I miss my tv too!Laughing

The pattern you're seeing is

The pattern you're seeing is known as the checkerboard or honeycomb effect. It's caused by the DM board.

Good luck trying to purchase this board.  Mitsubishi's policy is DM board sales are only avaliable with authorization from Mitsubishi's techline.  In order to get the authorization you have to have an account.  The part isn't avaliable through aftermarket sources either.

This is a $256 repair if you are willing and capable to pull the DM module out. I did this and sent it to a repair shop called PTS. They have a website...just google it. I believe PTS is in illinois or indiana.
