Had the classic convergence problem on our set, replaced the STK392-560 ic's with 570 chips, put back in the set and it blew the 3.15a pico on the left chip looking from the back of the set. Replaced all the picos with 5a picos and reinstalled, the set came on but the convergence was still having problems with the red, then the five resistors on the left side of the left ic started getting hot.. pulled the board to check solders and ohms and all looks ok.. on the schematic it looks like these resistors feed to something else, does anyone have any idea what could be putting the heavy load on these resistors? or could this just be the 570 chips?
Thanks in advance,
Tim
DON'T USE 570 CHIPS.... pulled the 570 ic's and replaced with 560's set works fine now.. I think Mr Dillon said it best in one of his posts, bigger is not always better.. Live and learn
