I was recently given a WS-55511 by a friend because it wouldn't power on. After reading many threads in this forum, I went ahead and replaced the 7 capacitors on the DM board. After getting everything back together, the TV powers on and has a perfect picture for anywhere between 5-20 minutes, then it reboots itself. After the LED stops flashing, I can turn the TV back on and it works fine for another 5 minutes or so, and the process repeats. The only code I can get from the LED is code 12 (no trouble). Any suggestions as to what else could be causing this? Thanks! [email protected]
Update: I have now noticed that if I leave the TV plugged in, but the power off, it seems to be resetting itself as well. Every 5-10 minutes the LED will blink for about 30-45 seconds, then stop. After it stops, tv works fine. Any clue as to what could be causing this? Could bad fuses or bad convergence IC's cause this? Thanks!
OK, this is the last reply to my own thread, I promise. After doing a little more reading, I realized that the caps I got from radio shack were 1000µF, 35V, but only rated at 85 degrees instead of the 105 that was recommended. Could this low rating be the cause of my TV shutting off after 5 minutes?
