By the way be very careful when making adjustments. I was in mine this morning trying to tweak some things and I accidently hit the wrong button and did a "Copy from D480p to 480P (i think) and now my TV's covergence is off and I can't get it to come back at all. If anyone has any ideas let me know. The screen now looks like a bowtie with all the colors off. Not sure if there is a reset or a setting to change it back.

BTW, If anybody needs it I've got a copy of the PT47WX53 Service Manual, it covers the PT-53WX53G, PT-56WX53G, PT-47WX53G, PT-47WX33G, PT-47WXC43G & PT-4743G.
I got it from a link I found in here somewhere, it's 15.2 MB zipped (unzipped it's a 20.2 MB 122 page pdf file).
I am the proud new owner of a PT-53WX42 that I got off of craigslist for $90.00, the seller was asking for a $100.00 and disclosed the picture issue as why.

BTW, I did manage to fix my PT-53WX53G issue the other night. The set is almost exactly five years old and it all of the sudden started displaying three stripes, one for each color (red, green, & blue) in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, each about six inches long, all pointed towards the center of the screen, each sligthly bent, almost like a rainbow at a fourtyfive degree angle, starting at the upper left-hand corner.
After removing the back, I almost immediatly found the culprit. The upper left-hand mirror bracket had a rubber padding strip which had comes loose, all but the last half inch, and was now hanging down in front of the mirror, causning the diffusion of colors on the screen.
I removed the bracket with its two screws and reset the rubber padding; good as new. I then vaccumed the dust out of the lower-unit, cleaned the bulbs with Isopropynol alcohol and reassembled the set.
Now I don't have any more screen issues and the brightness went backup 20% or so after cleaning the bulbs.

The easiest way to disconnect the inter-board connectors is to slide a long thin screwdriver under the connector and lift. Many times the connector is twisted and short circuits occur from trying to unhook with your thumb and fingers.
