I have a 50 inch plasma that has vertical lines running across the entire screen in different colors. this occurs when the tv first starts up and then it goes to blue screen after a few mins. This happens when using all inputs. I have been told that it is probably a problem with the image pcb (QPWB11522-1G-2). Looking for some advice and/or insight into the problem.
I have been repairing some Toshibas with LG 50X3 screens. If the lines are thin and about 100 in quantity of mixed colors but you can still see the image in the back, then it is most likely the controller board. With the Toshiba and other LG based sets it is in the middle of the set. There are several ribbon cables that lead to the Y-sus and X-driver boards. These can come loose. Remove and replace all of those and try again. Needless to say have the set unplugged when poking around.
If you have a multimeter and some electrical experience you may want to test the 3.3 and 5 volt regulators on the controller board.
