My Hitachi 53UDX10B projection Tv just went bad. The picture looks like a 3D picture with shadows or ghosts if you may. Looks exactly like watching a 3D movie without glasses. What can be the problem . Is it worth it fixing it or should I get a new TV
Sounds like the convergence output went haywire, causing the guns to not overlap properly. A good check is to try and adjust the convergence yourself, and if nothing holds, then you have your cause.
It could be worth repairing, but you'll want to get a quote from a service guy to get an exact cost on the repair amount. Each option costs money, but you'll need to decide if the repair costs are worth it to you.
Aside from the magic focus button on TV is there another way to correct the convergence problem myself?
Hitachi normally includes a manual convergence option somewhere in the TVs menu. If adjusting it makes no difference, then you know there's a problem. If magic focus isn't working, that's also not a good sign.
