I have the old integrated circuit chip removed from the printed circuit board and am ready to install the new STK-393110 IC chip from a OE manufacturer. My question is do I need to use flux with the .022 diameter rosin core solder that I have? This solder is 62/36/2 is this acceptable for this application?

No Flux  needed with Rosin core solder     Rosin is the FLUX     The solder you have will work perfect .

I heard they sell after

I heard they sell after market China IC's? maybe i hav the wrong info? ca the printing of the numbers too clean?. You realy hv to be carefull these days as china gotten smart. As I understand it originals are hrder to gret these days even for the manufacturers as Sanyo does not manufactuer any longer I was told. so I was also told most of the original ICs even from manufacturers are cheap knockoffs.

Larry,

Larry,
Fuses F9A04 and F9A05 were OK, and than I checked D9A60 and D9A61 they are Ok, what is the next step, do I need to measure pin 20 for 220v or pin 20 and 22 for 24V

Thanks,
WJ

If those pins are on the

If those pins are on the convergence IC YES!!!

wj
No, those pins on T9A50

No, those pins on T9A50 transformer from Switched supplies regulator schematic, I don't have full schematic so I don't know, but I do know they are in the same PCB power board.
Thanks,
WJ

the pins on the transformer

the pins on the transformer should show NO DC. these are or should be DAC there should be DC on the opisite side of the diodesD9A56 & D9A60 check the capacitors C9A79 and C9A79om the plus side of the diodes. I have a complete manual for this if you leave an e-mail address and include the model number as well

Larry,

Larry,
Thanks the info, I will try to do it, I had service manual but I am still can not find the connection from Switched supplies regulator to convergence IC, why do I need to check DM module?
Thanks,
wj

The DM will go bad soon if it

The DM will go bad soon if it is not already defective.

How do I know the capacitor

How do I know the capacitor was bad in DM module, is any ideal green light blinking 130 plus meaning.
WJ

I have replaced 7 capacitors in DM module today, but it has same problem, what is next to try?

I could use some help myself.

I could use some help myself. Our TV Mits WS-55511 seems to have similar problems as I have been reading in this blog. Ours just keeps blinking on initial start up. We had a power outage here at the house but the television would not reboot. Would anyone have any information that I could use on how to check this out before calling out a repairman. It seems it could be inexpensive to fix myself if I could just get pointed in the right direction. I am quite familiar with electronic components ( computers ect.) but first grade explanations always make it easier. Could someone just tell me how to get the tray out of the set. Any information from anyone or diagrams of this would be greatly appreciated.

I too would really be

I too would really be grateful for some insight. My WS-55511 has a similar convergence problem with one additional symptom. There is severe horizontal "tearing" mid-screen on the Green channel only. Before I replace the STK393-110 IC, I'm wondering if this "tearing" is related or a symptom of a totally different failure. I've discovered that by disconnecting the convergence molex connector at the Green DY, the "tearing" goes away. Screen photos below show the symptoms. I do have the service manual and schematics for additional troubleshooting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks....  Tom

Larry Dillon said: I hope that IC is an original Sanyo and not an aftermarket part or a reject, or you will be replaceing the IC again before you know it. By the price, it certainly sounds like an after market part.

Larry,

I am having a similiar problem with my WS-55511, I turn on the power and within seconds it turns back off. I tried getting the code and comes back code 23 (Loss of Horizontal Deflection) I believe. Before this you helped me with the blinking green light and I replaced the capacitors as instructed now I have this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks.

I've got a Mitsubishi 70 inch

I've got a Mitsubishi 70 inch tv that the power light will come on when using the remote or the button on the set itself ....then nothing. I just had the power supply replaced about 6 months ago. I can't pay for this every 6 months. Is this something I can do on my own or am I fubar'ed. I can take things apart and put them back together again and usually dont have too many parts left over. Lol
HELP!
