HI
WHEN SWITCHED ON DISPLAY SAYS ON THEN SWITCHES ITSELF OFF
WHEN I PRESS CD EJECT THE DISPLAY COMES UP OPEN AND WILL NOT EJECT ALSO THE MOTOR
FOR THE VCR CASSETT HOUSING KEEPS GOING FORWARD AND BACKWARDS THEN SWITCHES OFF
1 CHECKED THE POWER OUT FROM THE POWER SUPPLY AND VOLTAGES OK
CHECKED MODE SWITCH AND CLEANED AND STILL SWITCHING OFF
CAN SOME BODY PLEASE HELP TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO NEXT
have you tried unplugging the dvd drive power and data line to see if it stays on ? also have you tested the start and end sensors ?

rapairdud found 2 resisters 5k reading 550ohm changed them and still do the same thing checked the output from the power supply and found that 2 off the readings are double the voltage that is on the board 33v-56v and 17v-30v
all the caps look ok could you please tell me what to do next
check all caps , diodes , and the voltage regulators for the 5v and 12v dc supply lines
you may need to check each cap to make sure it charges ( unsolder one lead to check cap )( highest resistance setting ) , and that they are not open
also make sure you are getting dc comming out , not ac , check diodes and zener diodes( 5 and 12 volt voltage regulators )and the IC chip voltage regulators
let me know what you find
also do you have a scematic on this combo unit?

i will test all the caps and i could not find the ic chip on ic master
number is vc315740k02 i surpose that is the regulator is their a way i can test
to see if the ic is us.
