I have encountered a recent problem with my DVD/Video unit. Whether, I am playing a DVD, video or recording a tape, the unit keeps turning itself off. Although the unit is about 2 years old, it has not been used very much and this problem has only recently occurred. I would appreciate any advice before I disconnect the unit and cause myself additional problems.
Hi. I have the same problem with my model as well. Occasional use over about 3 years. Now the unit refuses to allow me to eject vhs cassette and dvd still inside. Did you find a solution to your problem at all thanks. I'm not sure if it is worth putting it in for repairs.
when a start or end sensor for the vhs tape go bad the tape can and will get stuck , and cause the unit to shut down, or mechanical/electrical failure
sometimes just the tape up/down assembly not being all the way up can cause eject/shut down
or there could be a problem in the standby power circuit
