Dear Group,
I have looked all over for help on this; I really appreciate any assistance.
We are tired of paying $100+ for cable each month, especially when there is so much TV out there that one can stream from the internet (and from Netflix). We are thinking about buying a laptop to do this and our TV has a DVI port. (After a couple of months, we figure that we would have saved enought to buy the laptop).
My real question is what do you need in a laptop (graphics card, RAM, etc.) to stream video to your TV (a TV with a DVI port) in order to watch streaming video at a rate and quality that would be comparable to what we see now on digital cable. I don't want to go out a buy a laptop if the quality will be sub-par and this whole idea can't really happen.
Also, I know there are adapters out there that convert s-video to DVI (in case your laptop doesn't have a DVI port), but do these adapters affect the quality - would you see any difference than having a DVI to DVI connection?
We are thinking about a MacBook if we can make this streaming idea work, but are open to a Windows machine that might cost a lot less if it works just as well. Perhaps, there is even a cheaper way to do this without buying a laptop.
Also, is there a way to connect this whole set up to work wirelessly so that one can sit on the couch, pull up hulu.com, and play what you want to your TV?
Thank you!!
Jennee

I have used it to stream my images off my DVR but as the user said above, you need broadband to do that Let me know if you find out anything on this.

Love is a telephone which is seldom program-controlled or directly dialed. You cannot get an immediate answer by a mere "hello", let alone go deep into your lover's heart by one call. Usually it had to be relayed by an operator, and you have to be patient in waiting. Destiny is the operator of this phone, who is always irresponsible and fond of laying practical jokes to which she may make you a lifelong victim intentionally or unintentionally.

Love is a telephone which is always busy, When you are ready to die for love, you only find, to your disappointment, the line is already occupied by someone else, and you are greeted only by a busy line. This is an eternal regret handed down from generation to generation and you are only one of those who languish for followers.
