i have a sony kp-51ws500 that is about 6yrs old now and started having display problems. I am getting a wide green horizonal curve line and shadows on letters/numbers, sord of repeating wording 2-3 times over. I am not sure to adjust the blue/green/red voltage / ray gun projection adjustment or t/s the STK ic/pico resistors. I have never work a tv before but have an associates in electronics(communications) with expirence in t/s componants/soldering. I want to know if there is anything i need to discharge(if so, how) or stay away from when replacing the STK ics and pico resistors. I will definitely disconnect the tv pwr source and have already dwn loaded the repair manual......
thanks, david.
I just repaired the exact same TV with 1 blown pico fuse and 2 convergence IC's. If you do a search, there is a TON of info on this site including a thread that is 25 pages and counting on this very issue. Do a search, read, and decide if you want to do it yourself or pay somebody to fix it for you.
