SONY KV30HS510 colour issues

Hey all,

Just wandered onto this site, seems like this is the place to get  a lot of helpful info, so here it  goes!!

Here's my problem.  When I run my DVD player, or something through my component jacks (or HDMI) on my TV, the colours are not right. 

For instance there is a lack of  red, and the greens arent quite right either.   However, if I run my DVD player through my composite jacks on the front of the TV, the colours are fine. As well, if  I hook up the ole rabbit ears, the colour is fine as  well.

Also when I start it up, it blinks 5 long blinks, and 1 short blink and then the picture comes on.  I see on some other posts this refers to a diode.  Can this be related to my colour problem as well?

Any suggestions?  any help would be muchly appreciated!!
