The RBG convergence is off.
The TV had a shorted horizontal output IC (2SC5778-YB). I installed a new 2SC5778. Then the convergence problem appeared. I installed two new STK394-510 ICs and checked all the pico fuses. All six are good.
Thank you

It was the transistor
It was the transistor
Had another problem also. Fixed it.......works great again. Nothing like self help.
hey i have a similar issue.
had convergence problem, changed ICs and worked great for an hour, then 6 blinks.
im planning on changing the c5778s but i wonder if thats even the issue.
TVJUNK which transistor was the problem at the end?
and what was the final issue you mentioned that u resolved?
Thanks
Two components were shorted:
Transistor-> FQPF12P20XDTU (can buy from Mouser.com for $1.47 each), MCM Electronics sells them for $14.79 each....nice mark up, huh.
Transistor-> 2SC5778 (can buy from MCM Electronics for $3.99 each), had to bend leads a little
The 2SC5778-YB from MCM Electronics is $26.06 and has the leads bent properly for the Sony PCB. I spent $3.99 on the same exact part but had to bend the leads myself which saved me about $22.
The shorted 2SC5778 chip caused the 4 blink problem. With the new 2SC5778 installed and the FQPF12P20XDTU shorted, the TV had a bow effect which looked like the common bad STK chips. It was the FQPF12P20XDTU ($2 chip) causing the problem. With a new FQPF12P20XDTU installed, the picture came in perfect.
I was Given A Sony Wega KP-51WS520 And It Has The Exact Same Blink Codes As The One You Showed On here. Turn on TV and Get 4 Flashing RED LIGHTS ON FRONT OF TV And SHUTS OFF. I Looked For The Part Numbers On The Transistors, And Could Not Find that Number on the transistors. I Cant find a Manual that shows the Board and EXACTLY WHERE THEY ARE TO REPLACE THESE TRANSISTORS. WOULD YOU HAVE A PHOTO DIAGRAM OF THE BOARD WHERE THEY ARE ? I HOPE YOU CAN BE ABLE TO HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. Thank You, AL
