rubbish mp3 player

yesterday i bought an iitronics imp-65. I downloaded songs on to it until it reached full capacity, but then when i went to delete a few a window came up about synchronizing and formatting and i pressed manual. now the thing wont work. I dont know how to get the synchronise window back up but my mp3 player says that it has 98% used space. but there isnt a one song on the player can anybody help?

If it was mine I would format

If it was mine I would format it but NOT with windows format ... I would ONLY use the formatting tool that came with the player.

The iMP-65 is very likely using the generic Chinese s1mp3 circuit board the same as my iMP-11 so you are possibly another candidate to pop over to http://s1mp3.secret.com.br/en/index.php and their forums at http://s1mp3.secret.com.br/forum/

Hope this helps ;)

I've looked at your site and

I've looked at your site and rapidly went out of my depth technically. My IITronics iMP-11 512MB, which I'm beginning to hate with a passion, has various problems which I can only assume are firmware-related. By and large the display will disappear after about 10 minutes and I have to work 'blind' - the thing generally stops working completely after an hour or two and only starts again if I remove the battery for a while. I do not have the disk that originally came with the player - there seems to be some firmware available on IItronics' site but I do not know how to install it (it's a .bin file). I can't seem to find your contribution to the above site - I'd be very greatful for your advice as to exactly what I'd need to do to get my player working.

If you really, really, really

If you really, really, really want to flash the firmware then you will need the utilities from the original Mini-CD that came with the player OR you can download the latest version of the utilities by clicking on this link -> http://www.s1mp3.org/files/firmware/u...

You will need 7zip or WinRAR to extract the files from the 7z file then run setup.exe. This will install the utilities which come on the Mini-CD.

Then to flash the firmware ... download the correct .BIN file from IItronics to match your serial number behind your battery.

Now run the "MP3 Player Update Tool" and use it to flash the firmware.

If you need or want to format the player then use the "MP3 Player Disk Tool".

Don't blame me if it all goes wrong though ... flash at your own risk ;)

hope this helps.

I'm having similar problems

I'm having similar problems, when I try to flash the player I get a 'Please format removable drive' message. I have no idea how to format it but tried through windows, I then get a 'Disc is write protected' error message. I have tried flicking the hold switch incase that was write protecting the drive. I can't get the player to either flash or format. Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance
