The convergence IC's are

The convergence IC's are located on the convergence board which is behind the front speaker grille.  To remove the grill,  open the control door in the front of the set, you'll see 2 screws behind it that need to be removed.  Then, on both ends of the grille, on the backside of the set, there will be 2 screws on both ends that have to be removed.  At that point you can pull the grill off.  There is often a wood cover plate behind the grille that comes off, then you'll see the convergence board on the right front of the set at the bottom.  We replace those with STK392-120 IC's.  Usually those take care of the problem.  On occasion we've had DCU's bad.  Those are also plugged into that board as well.

Your instructions have been

Your instructions have been quite helpful. But, (and sorry) where exactly is it located behind the front panel? I don't see anything that looks like that part (STK392-120) am I blind or do I have to disassemble another part to find it?

thank you kindly, and God bless you.
